Valle Romano is a Par 72 measuring 6371m, is located in Estepona on the Costa del Sol. The location is fantastic with views out to the Mediterranean Sea from every hole on the course as well as the impressive modern clubhouse. The course enjoys wide fairways and spacious large greens with gentle slopes allowing for many different pin positions from quite easy to the almost impossible to attack. Beware of the many very large bunkers that are dotted throughout this course, they are there to collect any wayward shot. Hole 12 in particular requires careful shot placement due to the well positioned lake behind the green. Golfers can enjoy some very pretty views when tackling this golf course and it really makes a fantastic addition to a golf holiday in the Costa del Sol.
Almenara Course is a 27 hole golf course, it is surrounded by pine and cork trees and two lakes that are integrated into the course. Its 27 holes allow you enjoy up to three different 18-hole rounds, each with Par 72, which offers great variety so that each game presents a challenge for the player. The course has been designed for everyone to enjoy, from the high-handicap amateur golfer to the most skilled. The course enjoys stunning views of the Mediterranean and the surrounding mountains.
San Roque is a Par 72 measuring 6497m, it is located in San Roque, 20 minutes from Gibraltar airport and 90 minutes from Malaga airport. It played host to the Spanish Open in 2006, but with five different tee positions on every hole, it is a course that can be enjoyed by players of all abilities. It is built on the higher ground of the resort, and therefore enjoys some stunning views. There are two large lakes that come into play on four of the holes, and the Mediterranean Sea can be seen from twelve of the holes. Each hole presents a different challenge which could include pot bunkers, wooded areas, blind drives, small greens and narrow fairways. There is some penal rough, which will gather in any errant shots, but it looks beautiful when the wild flowers are ablaze with colour.
Alcaidesa Heathland is a Par 72 measuring 6373m, it is located between the resorts of Sotogrande and Valderrama. This Dave Thomas designed course offers a great variety of landscapes and wide open fairways, and enjoys some magnificent views. It is reasonably flat, with most of the holes meandering through the river valley and incorporating many water hazards.
Finca Cortesin is a Par 72 course measuring 6802m, it is located in Casares, near Estepona, 25 minutes from Gibraltar airport and 90 minutes from Malaga airport. This is a long, demanding course, but with five different tee positions on every hole, it is great for players of all levels. Cabell Robinson designed this stunning course, so that every hole was different, and this is one of the factors that make this such an enjoyable round. The greens are gently contoured and they can be very fast, they are also very well protected by strategically placed bunkers. There are several holes worth mentioning but perhaps the best is the Par 4 13th, where you have to drive over water to a wide fairway and then the approach to the green requires another shot over water.
