El Chaparral is a Par 72 measuring 5649m. It is located between Fuengirola and Marbella and since it re-opened it has become one of the most attractive golf clubs on the Costa del Sol. It has 6 par 3s, 6 par 4s and 6 par 5s and the layout will offer a challenge to any level of golfer. Every hole is different and you will love the scenery around the course, it is tree lined and climbs its way through the hills and back down into the valleys demanding the use of almost all the clubs in the bag. The quality of the greens is largely due to the expert care of agronomist Manuel Pantoja, who has not only redesigned a number of the holes but is also responsible for their constant upkeep.
Cabopino Golf Club is a Par 71 measuring 5170m. It is perched above the delightful Costa Del Sol shoreline, and situated just off the coast road between Marbella and Fuengirola on the Costa del Sol. It boasts wonderful views of the mountains and the Mediterranean Sea. Although it is a fairly short course, it is still a good challenge of golf. The driver is only needed on a few holes, but the second shot to the green is the important one here. The par 4 third hole is an interesting one, it is only 288m, but the tee is on the top of the mountain with the green way down in the distance, the big hitters can reach but choosing the right club may be difficult. Some of the fairways are a bit tight and there are a lot of blind/dogleg holes, but this is a course that everyone seems to enjoy.
San Pedro is the original nine hole course at La Quinta and forms part of the toughest course make-up. It is an open course with wide fairways, but finding the correct position off the tee is crucial. The Ronda, named after a beautiful local village is a great nine hole course with narrow undulating fairways and very fast difficult greens. With many blind shots to be negotiated, this is a test of precision and accuracy. The most demanding hole is the long 6th, with requires three good strikes to find the green. The Guadaiza is the newest nine hole course at La Quinta. Set against the backdrop of the awe-inspiring Sierra Blanca mountain range, it enjoys many changes of levels and numerous dog legs that make it just as exciting as the other two courses. It is the longest of the three loops and demands long, accurate drives.
Los Naranjos is a Par 72 measuring 6457m, it is located between Marbella and Estepona on the Costa del Sol, and right in the heart of Europe’s Golf Valley of Marbella. The course was designed by Robert Trent Jones Snr. and it makes use of the surrounding orange groves. The front 9 is wide and open and the back nine are much tighter, winding through the orange trees.
The majority of the large, undulating greens are well protected by bunkers and with many water hazards this long course is quite a challenge. Los Naranjos was awarded ‘Course of the Year’ on the Costa del Sol in 2005 and again in 2008.
Aloha golf is a Par 72 course measuring 6007m, and it is located in the ‘Golf Valley’ in Marbella. This Javier Arana designed course is one of the most prestigious and longest established on the Costa del Sol. The course has been built into the hilly, often tight terrain and features many blind shots to the greens and multi-tiered greens.
Both nines start with a long Par 5 and the longest Par 4 is the 18th, which is a particularly tough hole which finishes with an elevated, two tiered green.
