Villamartin is a Par 72 measuring 6005m, it was designed by Paul Putman and opened in 1972. The course has been designed around the natural terrain and it features many ravines and valleys. The front nine is built around the highest points of the course and from the elevated tees you are rewarded with some stunning views of the coastline. The back nine are mainly situated in the valleys where the ravines come into play.
The signature hole is the Par 3 7th, which requires a good drive from the elevated tee, over the ravine and onto the tiered green, which is well protected by trees and strategically placed bunkers.
Las Ramblas is a Par 72 measuring 5806m, it is a 40 minute drive from Alicante airport and a 25 minute drive from Murcia San Javier airport. Las Ramblas means ‘The Dry Ravines’ and most of the tee shots involve driving over or alongside a ravine. The course is built into the hills, with rocky terrain, and the narrow pine tree lined rolling fairways demand accuracy. Several of the holes have doglegs and blind tee shots.
Water hazards come into play on the 10th and 18th, and one of the most memorable holes is the Par 5 4th, which requires you to drive over two gorges. This course has some stunning scenery and offers a very challenging, but enjoyable round of golf.
La Finca is a Par 72 measuring 6394m, it was designed by Pepe Gancedo primarily for tournament play, so this is an excellent course. Situated between mountains and the Costa Blanca coastline, it boasts some spectacular views. The course has generous fairways and some tricky greens because of the natural undulating terrain.
The 5th,6th and 7th holes are perhaps the most memorable, featuring lakes, several waterfalls and an island green. This long challenging course with its magnificent greens and water features will make you want to return again and again.
La Serena is located in Los Alcazares, just 1km from the Mar Menor Lagoon, 5 minutes from Murcia San Javier airport and 55 minutes from Alicante airport. Designed by the former Ryder Cup Player Manuel Pinero, this is a relatively flat course, but water hazards feature on 16 of the 18 holes. Faced with the prevailing wind, it is a challenge to avoid not only the water, but also the bunkers and sandy areas here.
This course provides an interesting round, but because it’s not overly long, it should be an enjoyable one.
Lo Romero is a Par 72 measuring 6065m, and is set amid typical Mediterranean surroundings. This is an excellent test of golf which makes the most of the hills, valleys, woodland, lakes and streams. The signature hole is the Par 4 18th, you drive off from the top of the hill leaving a mid/short iron into the island green. This hole has ruined many a good card but if you come off with a par it will be the talking point in the clubhouse. Lo Romero is a delightful course to enjoy a day’s golf, and the layout is a varied challenge with plenty to keep you interested.
El Valle is a Par 71 measuring 6185m, it is located near Banos y Mendigo, Murica, and is 20 minutes from San Javier/Murcia Airport and 55 minutes from Alicante Airport. This Jack Nicklaus course sits in a small valley surrounded by stunning views of the Murcian hills and countryside. The course is undulating and has been well designed utilising the natural terrain and incorporating some very well placed hazards. Two lakes and cascading brooks add to the difficulty on the back nine including the par 4 13th hole which has a lake down the left, out of bounds down the right and a small brook strategically placed around the green, accuracy is paramount on this hole.
