Stellenbosch Golf course was extended from 9 to 18 holes in 1953. It has a championship layout that has hosted many prestigious tournaments in the past including the South African Open and South African Masters. The course is nestled in the heart of some of the world’s most famous vineyards and is surrounded with some wonderful mountain views.
Even though it is a championship course it is still good for all handicap levels providing you do not try to take on any crazy shots.
The village of Hermanus is well known for Whale viewing during the calving season but since the re modelling of Hermanus Golf Club it is also known for being a very good 27 hole championship golf course. The fairways are quite wide but if you miss them the rough can be very challenging.
The remodelling added 9 new holes and new water features as well as the introduction of visually pleasant grassy mounds adding definition and shape to the course.

A par 72 – 18 hole course that is flat and easy to walk. The course opened in 1932 and providing you can hit the ball straight and keep it out of the trees you should be able to put together a good score. Fantastic views of the mountains throughout the 18 holes makes this a must play for golfers in the Cape Town area.
De Zalze Golf Course is another must play and you should allow time after the round to take in a little wine tasting because the course is set an a 300 hectare Wineland Estate.
This is a tight course that will require you to plan your way around it avoiding the many water hazards. The spectacular clubhouse offers breath taking views and superb breakfasts and lunches.
Erinvale golf course was designed by Gary Player and it blessed with majestic mountain backdrops with spectacular views of the surrounding hillsides that are planted with vine. From the higher parts of the course there are some dramatic ocean views. The course has hosted both the World Cup Golf and the SAA Open which tells you the quality of the course.
We recommend carts for this course because there are some undulating hills especially on the back nine.
The Arabella is a Par 72 championship course measuring 6381m, surrounded by the Kogelberg mountain range and the Bot Lagoon, this course will take your breath away with its beauty. It has wide rolling fairways, strategically placed bunkers and numerous water hazards to trip you up. It is difficult to pick a signature hole, but special mention must go to the 8th, a truly beautiful Par 5, and the 18th, rated as one of the best finishing holes in the country.
Also worth noting is the Par 3 17th, which runs parallel with the lagoon, where an accurate tee shot is required if you don’t want to end up in the water or on the beach
