Montagu is a Par 72 course measuring 6304m. This parkland course is set in a spectacular setting, surrounded by water and mountains. Its beauty is further enhanced by flower beds, mature trees, shrubs and water hazards that are all a sharp contrast to the landscape. It enjoys wide fairways and extremely fast greens.
The signature hole is the Par 3 17th, where similar to the 12th at Augusta, the green can only be reached by clearing a vast expanse of water. This is a truly wonderful golfing experience, definitely not to be forgotten.
Outeniqua is a Par 72 course measuring 6320m. This parkland course enjoys stunning views of the mountains and offers a challenge to all golfers. The Outeniqua is regarded as the easier of the two parkland courses with its open appearance, but the short Par 4s offer many risk-and-reward chances.
Water hazards come into play on 11 of the holes, but all the courses at Fancourt offer a variety of tees to play from, so golfers won’t feel too daunted.
Pinnacle Point Golf Course is situated in Mossel Bay on the famous Garden Route. This 18 hole championship golf course was designed by the renowned golf architect Peter Matkovich and the 2011 Open Golf Championship winner Darren Clarke. The golf course stretches along four kilometers of spectacular coastline and boasts dramatic cliff-side holes and over 1000 acres of unspoiled beachfront. This is one of the most dramatic courses that you will ever play with some of the best views in golf anywhere in the world. The course runs along the cliff tops so it is important to keep the ball in play. Choose each shot wisely or and take a few spare golf balls just in case the wind blows.
Settled near the slopes of the Silvermine Mountains and only 20 minutes from the city centre of cape Town lies one of Cape Town’s Premier Courses – Westlake. A par 72 – 18 hole course that is flat and easy to walk. The course opened in 1932 and providing you can hit the ball straight and keep it out of the trees you should be able to put together a good score. Fantastic views of the mountains throughout the 18 holes makes this a must play for golfers in the Cape Town area.
De Zalze Golf Course is another must play and you should allow time after the round to take in a little wine tasting because the course is set an a 300 hectare Wineland Estate.
This is a tight course that will require you to plan your way around it avoiding the many water hazards. The spectacular clubhouse offers breath taking views and superb breakfasts and lunches.
Erinvale golf course was designed by Gary Player and it blessed with majestic mountain backdrops with spectacular views of the surrounding hillsides that are planted with vine. From the higher parts of the course there are some dramatic ocean views. The course has hosted both the World Cup Golf and the SAA Open which tells you the quality of the course.
We recommend carts for this course because there are some undulating hills especially on the back nine.
The Arabella is a Par 72 championship course measuring 6381m, surrounded by the Kogelberg mountain range and the Bot Lagoon, this course will take your breath away with its beauty. It has wide rolling fairways, strategically placed bunkers and numerous water hazards to trip you up. It is difficult to pick a signature hole, but special mention must go to the 8th, a truly beautiful Par 5, and the 18th, rated as one of the best finishing holes in the country.
Also worth noting is the Par 3 17th, which runs parallel with the lagoon, where an accurate tee shot is required if you don’t want to end up in the water or on the beach
