The Atlantic is a Par 72 Championship course measuring 6290m, and was designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. The first three and the final three holes are in the valley, whilst the rest of the course has been built into the hills, and offers some stunning views of the area. The round starts with four consecutive Par 4s that become more and more difficult, and the round ends with the three hardest holes of the entire course.

The signature hole is the stunning Par 5 6th, which features a dogleg and then a lake in the front of the green. This fantastic course has hosted the Portuguese Open, but can still be enjoyed by players of all abilities.

The Monastery is a Par 35 9 hole course measuring 2588m, and was designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. It is situated on the site of a former monastery, and boasts superb views of the hills and lakes which surround the course. This is much flatter and easier than its sister course and higher handicappers may well feel more comfortable playing here.

There is an ancient monastery building near the 4th and hole 9 enjoys a spectacular view over the Penha Longa Palace.
